Since we’ve started the Japanese Culture Projects in the Oral Communication class, I find myself with a lot more free time, because I don’t have so much to do in terms of class preparation. This project will cover about 5 or 6 classes, maybe 7 classes. The students are very creative, I'm looking forward to watching the finished product.
I mailed my application for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test today. I will be attempting Level 3. Amanda had an extra copy of previous year’s tests which she gave me. After leafing through it, I’m afraid I’m going to need to do a whole lot more studying if I intend to pass the test…! I guess it’s just as well that I have some extra time at school.
There are two teachers usually assigned to each club activity. I’ve become good friends with both the teachers who are responsible for the kyudo club, Shimasaki sensei and Miyamoto sensei. Shimasaki sensei mentioned that as of yesterday, the Kyudo club members will finish their practice with running up the steep hill that leads to the school, 5 times. It’s a pretty horrid hill. Since it’s a new activity to everyone, I think I’m going to join them. I need to get in better shape!!
There were no classes in the afternoon today. All the students were gathered in the gym to practice for the upcoming Sports Festival.
At the risk of sounding really geeky, I have to say that I really like being at work. I enjoy the teacher’s company a lot, and the students are always a lot of fun!
