Yukata to Festival
Amanda's a great girl to hang out with, always very entertaining!
Later in the afternoon, we went bowling downtown. I've only gone bowling twice before in my life....the last time being maybe 6 years ago. My first throw, I got a strike! In the first game, I got a total of 3 strikes and 3 spares! How lucky was that? It's because the ball I was using was purple.. As soon as Amanda started using my ball, she went from gutter balls to strikes!
Before coming home, we stopped by Seiyu to see what yukatta they have available. There was this beautiful purple one that was on sale for $140 (including an obi, geta etc.) I also bought a cute little matching purse.
We went to Amanda's host family place, and her mother helped us put on the yukatta.
It's a lot more complicated then I thought it would be. It's also very difficult to walk in..can only take very small steps if not the whole front of your yukatta swings open.
We went to my town's festival, where I ran into several students from my school and a couple of teachers. Afterwards, we went to get some purikura,
and I found out that you can have the purikura mailed to your cell phone!
It was a fun day!
Tomorrow morning I'll be leaving for a 3 day long business trip. Will write about it when I get back.
